I am SO excited to be able to tell you guys what I have been working on! I will be doing two separate features on two separate boot styles from the 65-year-old, well known, tried and true Canadian shoe company called Cougar! I hope you enjoy it and go check out their shoes!
This is not a paid feature
I have always had a problem in the winter with my feet getting cold first. It makes for a terrible time of finding winter shoes and boots that will keep them at least a little bit warm. With becoming a pilot though there is one thing that flying in winter is… cold. It’s a type of cold that is difficult to escape. First, you do a pre-flight briefing… even this was freezing cold at the aerodrome where I flew out of, because of the fact that the old building had no heating and had a big hole in the middle of the floor. Then you have to pull out the plane on the icy packed snow. Then comes the pre-flight check.
The pre-flight check or the 'walk around' can be bitterly cold. For some of it, you have to take your gloves off such as checking the fuel. Then even after all of that getting in the plane and flying is not the warmest task for your feet either… for some reason the heaters only blow on your face.
I was desperate to have some comfortable flights. Many flights I’d shut the plane down, get out and I couldn’t feel my toes! When I saw the tag on the Vintage Cougar boots that they were warm down to -30℃ I was willing to give them a shot. I am so glad that I did! They have become my go-to shoe for flights especially in the winter and cold seasons. But I wear them for more than just flying! I use them as hiking boots too!
My feet have high arches and get sore really easily, so shoes that I last a 5km hike in without limping back pass my inspection. I decided to test out these Vintage Cougars on a hike in Banff National Park a little while ago. They passed my standards nicely and they made my hiking attire super cute too!
There is one component to my outfit in every picture that you will notice as something I apparently love to wear with my boots… that is my navy jacket. I definitely see the Vintage Cougar boots as more of a spring/fall/winter boot so I wear clothes accordingly. I put some tall cute socks with them or just let the ribbed fabric sides of the shoe do the talking! It doesn’t really matter what you pair with them they always look darling!
I have one more feature of their boots coming up soon!
Next week will be a regular post though
